Anthony Martial, a forward for Manchester United has announced his departure from the club after nine seasons. Despite being the most expensive teenager in the world when signed from Monaco in 2015 for £36m, Martial failed to fully meet expectations, scoring 90 goals in 317 appearances during his time at United. His last game for the club was a 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth on 9 December and following groin surgery in January, he never returned to the first-team squad.

Martial’s contract with the club expires this summer, prompting him to bid farewell to the fans on social media, expressing gratitude for his time at United and stating that the club will always hold a special place in his heart. During his tenure, Anthony Martial won the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Europa League with United and had a loan spell with Sevilla in 2022. Despite his contributions, his last appearance for France was in 2021. Several Manchester United players including Marcus Rashford wished Martial well in his future endeavors.

Rashford, on the other hand, announced his intention to take a break from social media following a challenging season individually and collectively which saw him excluded from England’s Euro 2024 provisional squad after scoring only eight goals. Despite the ups and downs, Rashford expressed gratitude to the fans for their support, emphasizing the unity within the United community.
