Antonin Kinsky the 21-year-old Czech goalkeeper, has joined Tottenham Hotspur from Slavia Prague for a fee of approximately £12.5m. The move comes as Spurs continue to deal with goalkeeper injuries, having been without their first-choice keeper, Guglielmo Vicario since he fractured an ankle on November 24 during a 4-0 victory over Manchester City. Fraser Forster has stepped in as a replacement but he missed Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle due to illness which resulted in 25-year-old Brandon Austin making his debut for the team.

Tottenham’s recent form has been poor with only two wins in their last 11 matches, leaving them in 12th place in the Premier League. In response, they have acted quickly to secure Kinsky, who has been a standout performer for Slavia Prague. Kinsky, who originally joined the Czech side from Dukla Prague in 2021 has impressed with his consistent performances, keeping 14 clean sheets in 29 appearances this season. He also spent time on loan before making his mark as Slavia’s first-choice goalkeeper.

The young goalkeeper has signed a contract with Tottenham until 2031, though the deal is subject to international clearance and the granting of a work permit. Antonin Kinsky’s signing is seen as a long-term investment by Spurs, who are looking to strengthen their squad and address their recent struggles. With the goalkeeper’s impressive form in the Czech league, Tottenham will hope he can provide a strong presence in goal and help stabilize their performances moving forward.
