Harry Kane has made history by becoming the top-scoring English player in Bundesliga history, netting his 41st league goal for Bayern Munich during their dominant 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen. This landmark goal came after Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala had already given Bayern a two-goal lead at halftime. Kane scored with a precise shot from the edge of the box.

This goal surpassed Jadon Sancho, who previously held the record with 40 goals for Borussia Dortmund. Olise, a former Crystal Palace winger who joined Bayern in July contributed significantly to the match, scoring his first goal in the 23rd minute and providing two assists. He showcased his skills by weaving through four defenders to set up Musiala’s tap-in before assisting Kane’s strike.

Serge Gnabry capped the scoring in the 65th minute with a curling shot into the bottom right corner. The victory keeps Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga, with four wins from four matches. Kane’s record-breaking performance follows a remarkable week in which he also became the all-time top English scorer in Champions League history scoring four goals in a 9-2 rout of Dinamo Zagreb.

Harry Kane reached 41 Bundesliga goals in just 36 appearances, whereas Sancho took 118 matches over two spells to hit 40. Sancho only broke the previous record held by Tony Woodcock with 39 goals for Cologne in the 1980s, last season. Kane’s swift ascent to the top of the Bundesliga scoring chart marks a significant achievement in his career.
