Harry Kane limped off as Bayern Munich fought back to secure a 1-1 draw at Borussia Dortmund in a tense “Der Klassiker.” Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens gave the hosts a first-half lead with a brilliant solo effort. Gittens dribbled past Bayern right-back Konrad Laimer and fired a powerful left-footed shot past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. His goal in the 27th minute made him the second Englishman to score in this fixture, following Kane’s hat-trick against Dortmund last season.

Bayern’s troubles deepened when Kane, the Bundesliga’s top scorer was forced off before halftime after signaling to be replaced, though his injury wasn’t caused by a tackle. The second half saw Bayern improve but they struggled to break down Dortmund’s defense. Thomas Müller, who replaced Kane, missed a great chance early in the second half, failing to beat Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel after a great run by Jamal Musiala.

Musiala, who had also come close to scoring earlier, finally equalized in the 85th minute. The German midfielder headed in a cross from substitute Michael Olise earning Bayern a point. Musiala’s sixth goal in 10 Bundesliga appearances this season kept Bayern unbeaten and maintained their position at the top of the table, seven points ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen.

After the match, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany reassured fans that Harry Kane’s injury did not appear to be serious, though he is uncertain for Bayern’s upcoming German Cup match against Leverkusen. Kane has contributed 19 goals and assists in just 12 Bundesliga matches this season, highlighting his importance to the team.
