A dramatic 95th-minute winner from substitute Ricardo Pepi sealed the triumph in front of a jubilant home crowd.
Shakhtar started strong, taking the lead in the 8th minute when Danylo Sikan converted Yukhym Konoplya’s precise low cross. They doubled their advantage just before halftime as Konoplya set up Oleksandr, who delivered a brilliant curling effort past PSV goalkeeper Walter Benitez.
The match turned in PSV’s favor in the second half when Shakhtar’s Pedrinho received a straight red card in the 69th minute for a reckless tackle on Johan Bakayoko. With Shakhtar down to 10 men, PSV capitalized on the opportunity and unleashed a stunning late surge.
Malik Tillman sparked hope for PSV with a goal in the 87th minute, slotting the ball home to halve the deficit. Just three minutes later, Tillman struck again with a spectacular effort to equalize, sending the Philips Stadion into a frenzy.

This victory made PSV the first team ever to win a Champions League match after being two goals down in the 86th minute.
