Craig Bellamy Sees Managerial Potential in Aaron Ramsey

Craig Bellamy believes Aaron Ramsey has the potential to become a high-level manager in the future but he considers speculation linking Ramsey to the vacant Cardiff City managerial position as premature. The Cardiff midfielder, who has 86 caps will miss Wales’ upcoming Nations League matches against Iceland and Montenegro due to a hamstring injury he sustained after coming on as a substitute in last month’s 2-1 victory over Montenegro.

Bellamy expressed confidence in Ramsey’s management prospects, saying, “I believe it’s starting to circle, because it does later on in your career.” He emphasized Ramsey’s experience and understanding of the game, adding that he would be surprised if Ramsey didn’t manage at a high level. Cardiff City is currently seeking its 12th permanent manager in 14 years after dismissing Erol Bulut, following the worst start to a season in the club’s history.

Omer Riza, the interim coach, recently secured the team’s first Championship win of the season against Millwall but Ramsey’s name is among several linked to the managerial role. Despite Ramsey holding a UEFA A licence, Bellamy ruled out the possibility of him becoming a player-coach at Cardiff, citing the difficulties he observed when Vincent Kompany tried a similar approach at Anderlecht.

He stated, “I probably would not recommend it, just my experience with Vinny doing it.” Craig Bellamy often involves Ramsey in Wales’ tactical preparations having known him since he was five years old. He expressed disappointment at Ramsey’s injury, noting his exceptional performance against Turkey in Bellamy’s first game in charge.

Although Ramsey will miss the games, he plans to stay involved with the team during this period contributing to their preparations.
