Dominic Solanke is set to be sidelined for approximately six weeks due to a knee injury, according to head coach Ange Postecoglou. The 25-year-old forward, who was part of a long list of absentees for Spurs’ 3-2 Europa League win against Hoffenheim will miss key fixtures including the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool and several Premier League matches.

Postecoglou confirmed that Dominic Solanke won’t require surgery but he remains uncertain if his recovery will take the full six weeks. Solanke’s injury adds to an already mounting injury crisis at Tottenham which includes fellow forwards Timo Werner and Brennan Johnson. While some players like Yves Bissouma, Pape Sarr and Cristian Romero are nearing returns, first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is a long-term absentee.

Spurs’ injury woes were evident in their Europa League match where Postecoglou had only eight substitutes available including two goalkeepers and five teenagers. Despite these challenges, the coach praised the determination of his players particularly the young ones with 17-year-old debutant Callum Olusesi making an appearance. The injury crisis hasn’t deterred Tottenham’s European progress.

They currently sit fourth in their Europa League group, needing a win over Elfsborg in the final match to qualify directly for the knockout phase. However, their league form has been a struggle with only one win in their last 10 Premier League matches, leaving them in 15th place just eight points above the relegation zone. As the injury list continues to grow, Postecoglou remains optimistic that his squad can weather the storm with the hope that reinforcements will return soon.
