England and Wales will meet in a tough group at Euro 2025, with both teams drawn into Group D alongside France and the Netherlands. Many have labeled this group as one of the hardest with England ranked in pot two and debutants Wales, in pot four, set to face off against strong opponents. While both teams avoided facing Spain or Germany, they drew the formidable French team, ranked fifth in the world and the Netherlands, who are ranked 10th.

England will kick off their campaign against France on July 5 in Zurich while Wales will make their major championship debut against the Netherlands on the same day in Lucerne. England will then face the Netherlands on July 9 in Zurich under manager Sarina Wiegman, who previously led the Dutch to Euro 2017 glory. Wales will play France on the same day in St. Gallen. The two British teams will meet in their group-stage finale on July 13 in St. Gallen.

Both teams will find the road to the knockout stages challenging. England, the highest-ranked team in the group, recently lost to France in Euro 2025 qualifying but avenged the defeat with a 2-1 win in the return fixture. Wales ranked 30th have struggled against France and the Netherlands in the past with the Dutch defeating them 5-0 in a friendly in 2017.

For England, defending their 2022 Euro title is the goal, though they will need to find form early to progress from the group. For Wales, simply making it past the group stage would be a remarkable achievement for a team making its major tournament debut.
