Brighton and Nottingham Forest maintained their unbeaten Premier League records in an exciting 2-2 draw during which one player and both managers received red cards. The match ended controversially when Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White received a second yellow for a sliding tackle on Brighton’s Joao Pedro, prompting dismissals for Brighton’s manager Fabian Hurzeler and Forest’s Nuno Espirito Santo due to their reactions.

Nottingham Forest took the lead with a penalty converted by Chris Wood, who scored after being tripped in the box. However, Brighton turned the game around just before half-time with two quick goals. Nineteen-year-old Jack Hinshelwood equalized with a powerful header from a Jan Paul van Hecke cross followed by Danny Welbeck’s stunning 25-yard free-kick that curled around the wall, leaving the Forest goalkeeper with no chance.

The visitors equalized in the 70th minute when Gibbs-White, having timed his run perfectly, squared the ball for substitute Ramon Sosa, who scored his first goal in English football. Despite both teams having chances to win including a late opportunity for Sosa that ended in an offside call, they settled for a point. Both teams have had strong starts this season with Brighton now at seventh and Forest in eighth place.

Each side has won two and drawn three of their five league matches with Brighton also advancing to the last 16 of the Carabao Cup. The match showcased thrilling moments and highlighted the competitive nature of both clubs as they continue to impress in the league.
