Dango Ouattara Salvages Draw for Bournemouth in Late Stunner

Dango Ouattara came off the bench to rescue a 2-2 draw for Bournemouth at Fulham, extending both teams’ unbeaten runs to seven Premier League games. As Bournemouth pushed for a late equalizer, Dango Ouattara latched onto a loose ball in the box in the 89th minute and calmly dinked it over Fulham’s goalkeeper Bernd Leno. Fulham took the lead in the 72nd minute with a superb header from Harry Wilson, following Antonee Robinson’s cross.

Earlier, Raul Jimenez opened the scoring for Fulham in the 40th minute by capitalizing on poor Bournemouth defending from a corner securing his sixth goal of the season. Bournemouth equalized six minutes after halftime when Evanilson ended a seven-match goal drought with a well-executed finish from a tight angle. The match was heated and Fulham grew frustrated when Bournemouth’s Ryan Christie avoided a red card after a dangerous studs-up tackle on Robinson.

VAR reviewed the incident and only deemed it worthy of a yellow card. Fulham then saw Jimenez’s shot cleared off the line by Dean Huijsen, denying them a potential second goal. Despite the missed chances, Jimenez’s first-half strike allowed him to become the joint-highest scoring Mexican in Premier League history, tying with Javier Hernandez on 53 goals. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola continues to impress.

The Cherries stay unbeaten and sit sixth in the table just one point behind defending champions Manchester City. Fulham in eighth place also eye European football next season and will look to build on their strong form under Marco Silva, who has led them through a tough December unbeaten. Both teams remain competitive for European spots as they look ahead to their next fixtures with Bournemouth hosting Everton and Fulham facing Ipswich Town.
