Erling Haaland Strikes Again as City Top the Table

Erling Haaland continued his blistering start to the season with back-to-back hat-tricks as Manchester City secured a 3-1 victory over West Ham United at London Stadium. The Norwegian striker, now with seven goals in three games, helped maintain City’s perfect start to the campaign. Haaland opened the scoring in the 10th minute finishing from a Bernardo Silva pass.

West Ham equalized when Ruben Dias inadvertently turned Jarrod Bowen’s cross into his own net. However, Haaland quickly restored City’s lead, smashing a powerful shot into the roof of the net. Despite City’s early dominance, West Ham improved in the second half with Mohammed Kudus hitting the woodwork, sparking a revival.

Bowen and Kudus troubled City’s defense but the Hammers couldn’t capitalize on their pressure. Haaland, quiet for much of the second half then latched onto Matheus Nunes’ through-ball to complete his hat-trick sealing the win. With this victory, Pep Guardiola’s side is now top of the table, while West Ham sit 14th with three points from three games.

Erling Haaland who scored a record 36 league goals two seasons ago, looks poised for another prolific campaign having scored 11 hat-tricks for Manchester City and reaching 70 league goals in just 69 games. West Ham’s second-half performance provided hope with new signings Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville adding depth as they chased an equalizer.

Despite the loss, the Hammers’ display particularly in the post-David Moyes era, showed promise for the future.
