Jorgen Strand Larsen’s Late Goal Earns Wolves Draw at Spurs

Jorgen Strand Larsen’s late equalizer earned Wolves a 2-2 draw at Tottenham, continuing Vitor Pereira’s solid start as manager. The game featured a chaotic but entertaining encounter. Wolves took the lead early when Hwang Hee-chan fired in a low shot from the edge of the box, exploiting Spurs’ defensive lapse from a free-kick. Tottenham quickly equalized through Rodrigo Bentancur, who headed home from Pedro Porro’s corner.

Spurs had the chance to take the lead with a penalty after Brennan Johnson was fouled by Andre but Jose Sa denied Son Heung-min’s attempt. Despite Tottenham’s dominance with chances from Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke, Wolves hung in and Jorgen Strand Larsen’s strike in the 87th minute secured a deserved point for his side. Wolves had endured a difficult start to the season but under Pereira’s leadership, they displayed resilience and clinical finishing.

Strand Larsen’s well-placed shot at the near post capped a fine individual performance. For Spurs, this match epitomized the unpredictable nature of their season under Ange Postecoglou. They showed flashes of brilliance, particularly with their second goal, a smooth combination between Kulusevski and Johnson. However, defensive lapses and missed opportunities left them frustrated.

Tottenham finished December with only five points from a possible 21, dropping below seventh place for the first time since the 2008-09 season. Wolves showed renewed confidence with Hwang and Strand Larsen taking their chances. Pereira’s tactical clarity is evident as the team starts to regain their form. Despite Matheus Cunha’s injury which saw him substituted at half-time, the contributions from other players including Hwang and Strand Larsen, suggest a positive outlook for the club.
