Manchester United’s Casemiro Criticized, Wife Posts Support

Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford hit Brazilian midfielder Casemiro hard, especially since he got substituted at halftime and faced criticism from pundits. Speculation swirled about him leaving the stadium at the break but United manager Erik ten Hag refuted these claims. Casemiro’s wife, Anna Mariana defended him by showcasing his extensive trophy collection on Instagram.

She posted photos of his silverware, including five Champions League titles, three La Liga trophies and an FA Cup with Manchester United and shared an encouraging message: “Always strong Casemiro, the biggest (flaming heart emoji).” During the match, Casemiro made two errors in the first half that contributed to Liverpool’s goals. Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher expressed concern about Casemiro’s loss of confidence.

Similarly, ex-Manchester United full-back Gary Neville also voiced worries regarding his current form. Ten Hag replaced Casemiro with 20-year-old Toby Collyer making his United debut in search of a more dynamic presence in midfield. Ten Hag praised Casemiro’s character and contributions, highlighting his past achievements and his potential future impact.

Casemiro’s tenure at United has been tumultuous. Initially celebrated as a solution to Manchester United’s midfield problems after a £70m transfer, his form declined sharply last season. He missed the FA Cup final and faced an unremarkable summer with rumors of a move to Saudi Arabia. Nevertheless, he returned for pre-season and started all Premier League games this season.

Despite remaining a positive influence and respected veteran, his recent performances have drawn criticism. With the international break approaching, Casemiro has a chance to address these issues and reaffirm his value.
