Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott faced and dismissed a lawsuit alleging sexual assault. The accuser claimed Prescott assaulted her in a Dallas strip club car park in February 2017. In May, the Dallas Police Department opted not to pursue criminal charges against Prescott due to insufficient evidence. Following the lawsuit’s dismissal, Prescott filed an extortion lawsuit in Collin County, Texas. He alleged the accuser and her attorneys demanded $100 million from him before filing the original criminal complaint.
A hearing on September 13 will determine if the accuser should face sanctions for the allegations’ impact on Prescott. Prescott’s attorney, Levi G McCathern, asserted that despite the accuser’s attempts to extort money and damage Prescott’s reputation, justice has prevailed. McCathern emphasized that such actions not only distract from the legitimate trauma experienced by sexual assault survivors but also undermine the significant progress society has made in supporting and empowering them.
He underscored the importance of addressing these issues with sensitivity and integrity to ensure justice and proper support for survivors. Dak Prescott, who has been a pivotal player for the Dallas Cowboys since joining the team in 2016, gained acclaim as the NFL offensive rookie of the year in his impressive debut season. His performance and leadership have solidified his role as a cornerstone of the Cowboys’ lineup.
