Estevao Willian, Chelsea have secured a deal to acquire him from Palmeiras starting next summer, agreeing to an initial fee of £29 million with additional payments based on performance. The 17-year-old, having represented Brazil at the Under-17 level, has demonstrated his talent by scoring four goals in 17 senior appearances across the Brazilian Serie A, Copa do Brasil and Copa Libertadores.

At the same time, Chelsea is actively negotiating to secure Argentine defender Aaron Anselmino. They have sent an official offer, reportedly between £12 million and £15 million, to Boca Juniors. Anselmino, who is 19 years old will likely go on loan to Strasbourg, a club that falls under the umbrella of Chelsea’s parent company, BlueCo.

These actions highlight Chelsea’s active strategy of attracting the best young talents worldwide, particularly from South America. Estevao Willian is the latest in a series of promising signings Chelsea has made, following players like Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington and Angelo Gabriel, all from Brazil.

The club’s proactive commitment to securing young talent continues to grow, as shown by the impending arrival of the 17-year-old Ecuadorian forward Kendry Paez from Independiente del Valle in 2025. Chelsea’s focus on nurturing promising young players underscores their dedication to building a sustainable future for the team.
