Chelsea Eyes Sancho; Liverpool Ups Mamardashvili Bid

Chelsea might soon make a late attempt to sign Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, 24, who has caught their interest. Liverpool have improved their bid to £34 million for Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili, 23. Paris Saint-Germain have given Manchester United the opportunity to sign Uruguay midfielder Manuel Ugarte, 23. They have proposed a season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy.

This move could bolster Manchester United’s midfield options for the upcoming season. Manchester City lead the chase to re-sign Ilkay Gundogan from Barcelona. The 33-year-old German midfielder wants to return to the Premier League and City manager Pep Guardiola supports the move. In contrast, Barcelona will not re-sign Joao Cancelo due to his £12 million wage demands.

Manchester United have agreed on a £5 million deal for Uruguay winger Facundo Pellistri, 22, to join Panathinaikos. Burnley have shown interest in Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, 21, while Wolves and Brentford target Burnley defender Dara O’Shea, 25, with a £15 million price tag. Fulham have agreed to pay £30 million for Denmark defender Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace.

Nottingham Forest are close to securing a loan deal with an option to buy for Spanish defender Alex Moreno from Aston Villa. Marseille are interested in Norwich City’s Jonathan Rowe, a 21-year-old England Under-21 winger. Arsenal insist on over £30 million for England striker Eddie Nketiah, 25, after rejecting Nottingham Forest’s £25 million bid.

Bayer Leverkusen have contacted Liverpool about Sepp van den Berg with Liverpool demanding £25 million for the Dutch defender. Manchester United plan to sell Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay, 27, to Napoli to meet Financial Fair Play regulations. Barcelona want to sign AC Milan’s Rafael Leao while Aston Villa’s Samuel Iling-Junior, 20, explores loan options.

Real Madrid’s Endrick, 18, may seek a loan move in January if he does not get sufficient game time.  Manchester United have not abandoned their pursuit of Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, 22, but acknowledge that it’s unlikely this window. Additionally, Erik ten Hag has decided to keep Brazil midfielder Casemiro after being impressed by his performance. Chelsea also plan a major squad clearout which could bring them a £200 million transfer windfall.
