Cole Palmer has signed a new contract with Chelsea, extending his stay at Stamford Bridge until 2033. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has secured a nine-year deal with enhanced terms following an impressive debut season with the Blues. Palmer, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City for £42.5 million last summer, enjoyed a standout first year, scoring 25 goals and providing 15 assists in 45 appearances.

Chelsea is eager to reward Palmer, who also made an impact on the international stage by scoring in England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final. The club plans to announce the new deal in the coming days. Palmer’s remarkable season earned him nominations for both the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards with the winners to be revealed in Salford next week.

He also won the Premier League Young Player of the Season award for 2023-24. Chelsea will kick off their Premier League season against Manchester City on Sunday. The match will mark the start of manager Enzo Maresca’s campaign. Maresca, who previously served as Pep Guardiola’s assistant and won the Treble with City in the 2022-23 season, led Leicester City to the Championship title last season, securing their return to the Premier League.

Cole Palmer’s new contract reflects his significant contributions and potential and Chelsea is keen to build on their promising squad as they prepare for the upcoming season.
