Erling Haaland Reaches Century Mark in Just 105 Games

Erling Haaland reached a significant milestone by scoring his 100th goal for Manchester City during their 2-2 Premier League draw with Arsenal. The Norwegian striker achieved this feat in just 105 appearances marking his 100th start for the club. He netted the goal in the ninth minute, following a through ball from Savinho and has maintained an impressive scoring rate of one goal every 85 minutes.

This season, Haaland appears more prolific than ever, tallying 10 goals in the first five matches—an achievement not seen since Aston Villa’s Pongo Waring in 1930. Overall, Haaland has scored 235 club goals including his time at Molde, Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City along with 32 goals for Norway. Haaland’s record is remarkable, particularly given he joined Manchester City in 2022 from Dortmund for £51 million.

At Dortmund, he scored 86 goals in just 89 appearances. He has particularly excelled against teams like Wolves with eight goals in four matches, and has struck 73 Premier League goals for City, alongside 18 in the Champions League and additional goals in domestic cup competitions. At just 24 years old, Haaland’s goal-scoring achievements put him in elite company. By this age, Cristiano Ronaldo had 117 goals while Lionel Messi had 184.

Erling Haaland holds records for the most goals in a Premier League season (36) and the fastest to multiple scoring landmarks. Looking ahead, Haaland has the potential to become Norway’s all-time top scorer and could challenge Sergio Aguero’s club record of 260 goals if he continues his current scoring rate. He is also poised to chase Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260 goals and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Champions League total of 140 goals.

This pursuit highlights his remarkable talent and potential for future achievements.
