Hibernian suffered a surprising 1-0 defeat to League 1 side Kelty Hearts in Scottish League Cup Group C. Callum Flatman’s header in the 58th minute secured the win for Kelty Hearts, handing David Gray his first loss as Hibs head coach. Despite the defeat, Hibernian remains at the top of their group. Aberdeen, under new head coach Jimmy Thelin, continued their winning streak with a 4-0 victory over East Kilbride. The match saw first-half goals from Nicky Devlin and Jamie McGrath, followed by second-half strikes from Leighton Clarkson and Shayden Morris.

Other Premiership teams also secured wins. Dundee United defeated Ayr United with a stunning Brandon Forbes free-kick. Meanwhile, Motherwell overcame Clyde 3-1 with goals from Moses Ebiye, Lennon Miller, and Filip Stuparevic. Ross County edged Raith Rovers 2-1 with George Harmon’s decisive late goal and St Johnstone triumphed 2-0 over Morton, courtesy of Benjamin Mbunga Kimpioka’s double.

In Group A, Airdrieonians staged a dramatic comeback to defeat Dumbarton 4-3. This victory propelled them to the top of the group, surpassing Aberdeen on goal difference. Meanwhile, Falkirk defeated Buckie Thistle 4-1 with goals from Aidan Nesbitt, Sean Mackie and Ryan Shanley. In Group B, Dundee United narrowly defeated Ayr United, while Falkirk emerged victorious against Buckie Thistle.

Group C saw Kelty Hearts’ surprising win over Hibernian and Peterhead’s 4-2 victory over Elgin City. In Group D, Annan Athletic defeated Arbroath 3-0. Inverness Caledonian Thistle also won 3-0 with goals from Adam Brooks, Keith Bray and Luis Longstaff. In Group E, Livingston won 1-0 against Forfar Athletic, who later advanced on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Group F saw St Johnstone and Alloa secure victories while Group G featured Motherwell and Partick Thistle as leaders. Finally, in Group H, Raith Rovers led the standings despite a 2-1 loss to Ross County while Hamilton achieved a 3-0 win over Stranraer.
