Kevin Campbell aged 54 is reportedly “very unwell” and hospitalized, prompting his former club Everton to extend their support. Campbell began his football journey at Arsenal debuting in 1988 and going on loan to Leyton Orient and Leicester City. At Arsenal, Campbell contributed to the league-winning squad in 1990-91, showcasing his skill and determination. He also played a pivotal role in securing the FA Cup and League Cup double triumphs in 1993, along with a European Cup Winners’ Cup victory in 1994.
After playing for Nottingham Forest and Trabzonspor, Kevin Campbell joined Everton on loan in March 1999. He made a significant impact by scoring nine crucial goals in the final eight Premier League games which helped Everton avoid relegation. Everton then signed him permanently in the summer of 1999 and Campbell spent over five seasons with the Toffees becoming a beloved figure among fans. Campbell’s career also included playing for West Bromwich Albion and Cardiff City during which he scored a total of 148 goals from 542 appearances.
After retiring from playing, he became a media pundit. Everton has extended heartfelt wishes to Campbell and his family during this challenging time expressing deep concern for his well-being.
