Kevin de Bruyne will remain with Manchester City, as confirmed by manager Pep Guardiola, despite speculation linking him with a summer move to Saudi Arabia. De Bruyne, who has one year left on his contract with City had previously mentioned that the “incredible money” offered by the Saudi Pro-League would require careful consideration. However, Guardiola has expressed confidence that De Bruyne will not be leaving Manchester City.

Guardiola’s reassurances came before City’s opening pre-season match against Celtic in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. De Bruyne played a crucial role in securing City’s Premier League title last season, contributing to their fourth consecutive league win and his sixth overall with the club. In addition to Kevin de Bruyne, City has been linked with other potential transfers.

Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, a member of England’s Euro 2024 squad has attracted interest from City. Furthermore, Brazil goalkeeper Ederson has also drawn attention from Saudi Arabian clubs. Despite these rumors, Guardiola anticipates maintaining a similar squad to last season. Guardiola acknowledged the possibility of new additions but emphasized that the current squad’s continuity is more probable.

“If someone leaves, we will discuss it, and until the transfer window closes, changes are possible,” he stated. “However, I believe there is an 85, 90, 95% chance that we will have the same squad.” Manchester City will kick off their Premier League title defense with a match against Chelsea on August 18.
