Kurt Zouma’s proposed transfer to UAE club Shabab Al-Ahli has fallen through after the West Ham defender failed his medical examination. The 29-year-old Zouma had traveled to Dubai to finalize a lucrative move but now his advisors are exploring alternative options. Zouma still has a year remaining on his contract with West Ham but the club has already secured other central defenders.

They recently signed Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice on loan, with a £34.22 million obligation to purchase the 24-year-old Frenchman. Last month, West Ham paid £40 million to Wolves for their captain and fellow center-back, Max Kilman. This move added depth to West Ham’s defense following Zouma’s transfer collapse. Since joining West Ham from Chelsea in a £29 million deal in 2021, Zouma has made 103 appearances for the club.

He played a crucial role in their 2023 Europa Conference League final win over Fiorentina. Zouma, who has won the Premier League twice and the Champions League with Chelsea was named West Ham’s club captain at the start of last season following Declan Rice’s departure to Arsenal. With his transfer to Shabab Al-Ahli falling through, Kurt Zouma’s immediate future is now uncertain.

As he faces this setback, he and his advisors are actively exploring new opportunities for his career.
