Leny Yoro to Join Manchester United in €62M Deal

Leny Yoro is on the verge of signing with Manchester United, who have agreed to a €62 million (£52.06 million) fee with Lille. Yoro, an 18-year-old prodigy will fly to Manchester today for a medical. His talent has drawn interest from top European clubs, including Real Madrid. Leny Yoro debuted for Lille at 16 and appeared in Thierry Henry’s provisional squad for the Olympics, though Lille’s involvement in the Champions League qualifiers ultimately excluded him. Yoro’s addition is expected to bolster United’s central defense.

The club has also pursued Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, submitting two bids, both of which Everton rejected as they did not meet the valuation of over £75 million. Additionally, United have engaged in talks with Bayern Munich for Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt. However, sources indicate that United will sign either Branthwaite or De Ligt, not both with further acquisitions depending on squad space and financial considerations. United’s defensive line has seen significant changes.

Raphael Varane departed at the end of the season and Victor Lindelof’s future remains uncertain with his contract expiring next year. Harry Maguire, who courted several Premier League clubs last summer, chose to stay at Old Trafford, making 22 league appearances. In other transfer news, United recently signed Joshua Zirkzee, 23, from Bologna for £36.5 million, marking their first acquisition of the summer. They also agreed to a £27 million deal with Marseille for striker Mason Greenwood.

Meanwhile, defender Willy Kambwala moved to Villarreal for approximately £9 million. These moves reflect United’s strategic efforts to reinforce their squad, balancing incoming talent with outgoing players to build a robust team for the upcoming season.
