Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has received interest from the Football Association (FA) regarding the England managerial position. The 53-year-old Spaniard is expected to decide about his future soon as he also contemplates a one-year contract extension with City. Meanwhile, the FA has informed Lee Carsley that he will not receive the permanent appointment as England’s manager. He is currently serving as the team’s interim manager.

In transfer news, Newcastle United plans to accept an offer for Paraguay midfielder Miguel Almiron in January to generate funds for squad reinvestment. Liverpool is eyeing defender Loic Bade as a potential replacement for their captain Virgil van Dijk. However, Sevilla has set a €20 million price tag for the 24-year-old Frenchman.

Meanwhile, Manchester United has been closely monitoring Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze as the club’s scouting department keeps tabs on the 26-year-old England international. United is also considering re-signing Spain Under-21 left-back Alvaro Carreras, who moved to Benfica over the summer.

Barcelona reportedly shows interest in Arsenal and Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey as they explore options in the free-agent market. In women’s football, England forward Chloe Kelly may leave Manchester City after her relationship with manager Gareth Taylor has soured.

Additionally, A22 Sports Management is taking steps to launch The Super League in September 2025. Former France midfielder Paul Pogba is set to return from a reduced doping ban in March 2025 but is unlikely to play for Juventus again.

Recently, Pogba turned down an approach from the Russian club Broke Boys FC indicating his desire to remain in Europe.
