Prince William met with England’s Euro 2024 squad before their departure to Germany for the tournament. At the event, he greeted the players and manager Gareth Southgate, presenting shirts to the 26 players and sharing humorous advice including an anecdote involving his youngest child, six-year-old Prince Louis. During his address to the squad, Prince William humorously advised them to eat double their usual amount, citing his son’s suggestion, and conveyed well-wishes for their success in the tournament.
Schoolchildren from the Midlands, eager to commemorate England’s send-off, attended the event at St George’s Park national football centre in Burton-upon-Trent. They brought enthusiasm and cheers to the occasion, showing their support for the national team. Later on Monday, Southgate’s squad departed for Germany where they will stay at the five-star Weimarer Land Spa and Golf resort in Blankenhain, a countryside town in east Germany. The hotel has customized its facilities, including massage areas, lounges and restaurants to provide a comfortable and familiar environment for the players.
Furthermore, the players will be able to enjoy a range of recreational activities during their downtime at the resort. These include opportunities for walking through the scenic countryside, cycling along picturesque trails, playing tennis on well-maintained courts and engaging in basketball matches on the resort’s facilities.
