Real Madrid may pursue Trent Alexander-Arnold in January rather than waiting for his contract with Liverpool to expire next summer. The club originally planned to sign the 25-year-old England right-back as a free agent but reconsidered their strategy after Dani Carvajal, 32, suffered a serious knee injury. Real Madrid aims to bolster their defense with Alexander-Arnold’s signing which could add significant depth to their squad. Meanwhile, Liverpool is in talks to extend contracts for key defenders Jarell Quansah, 21 and Ibrahima Konate, 25.

In other news, Paul Pogba is negotiating with Juventus to end his second stint with the Serie A club. Following a reduced doping ban from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the 31-year-old midfielder aims for a fresh start away from Juventus. Wolves management has confirmed they do not plan to sack Gary O’Neil, offering him time to turn around the team’s fortunes despite suffering six defeats in their opening seven Premier League matches.

On the other hand, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed concern over losing goalkeeper Ederson when Al-Nassr made a summer offer for the 31-year-old but he successfully convinced Ederson to remain with the club. City has also earmarked £80 million for potential player acquisitions in the January transfer window following Rodri’s season-ending injury.

West Ham is keen to bring back Ayoze Perez from Villarreal to enhance their attacking options. Former Barcelona manager Xavi is considered a strong candidate for Manchester United’s reconstruction project if Erik ten Hag departs. Newcastle United faces competition from Barcelona in their bid to sign Lille striker Jonathan David while Liverpool joins the race for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, 26.

Additionally, clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea are monitoring Santos’ 18-year-old Brazilian defender Joao Pedro Chermont. Juventus is also in discussions to extend Dusan Vlahovic’s contract.
