West Ham United has actively pursued and successfully secured the £25.5 million signing of 18-year-old Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras. This marks the first player the club’s new manager, Julen Lopetegui, has signed since he assumed his role just a month ago. Luis Guilherme plans to finalize his move to West Ham United this Friday, a date that coincides with the official opening of the Premier League’s transfer window.
However, he needs to secure international clearance and a work permit for this transfer to reach its completion. When the club announced his signing, Guilherme could not hide his excitement about becoming a part of West Ham United. He shared on the club’s official website, “Joining West Ham United, a club that has demonstrated such faith in my abilities, fills me with incredible pleasure.”
Guilherme, who made a name for himself at Palmeiras at the tender age of 17 in 2023 and participated in the Copa Libertadores this season, eagerly awaits the opportunities that West Ham promises. He found the project that the Hammers proposed appealing to not only him but also his family. He has faith that Lopetegui’s guidance, who succeeded David Moyes at the end of the season, will help him accumulate valuable knowledge and experience.
In expressing his excitement about playing in the Premier League, Guilherme stated, “The Premier League stands as the apex of football leagues worldwide. I remain confident that the entire staff at West Ham will contribute to my significant improvement and development as a player.”
