Willian the former Chelsea and Arsenal winger has joined Greek Super League leaders Olympiakos as a free agent after leaving Fulham this summer. The 36-year-old Brazilian departed Fulham when his contract expired and has now signed with Olympiakos a club owned by Evangelos Marinakis, who also owns Nottingham Forest. Willian and Marinakis were spotted at Stamford Bridge, watching Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace which fueled speculation about his move.

During his two seasons at Fulham, Willian made 67 appearances and scored 10 goals after joining the Cottagers from Brazilian side Corinthians in 2022. Before his time at Fulham, Willian spent seven successful years at Chelsea between 2013 and 2020. He won five major honors during his tenure with the Blues including two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, EFL Cup and the UEFA Europa League.

Afterward, he joined Arsenal in 2020 but his stint there was less successful leading him to return to Brazil with Corinthians. Despite his age, Willian remains confident in his abilities. In a recent interview with BBC Sport, he expressed his belief that he could continue playing until he is 40. This move to Olympiakos represents a new chapter in his career, as he looks to contribute to the Greek side’s quest for domestic and European success.

Willian’s experience and versatility on the wing will be valuable assets for Olympiakos as they compete at the top of the Greek Super League and in European competitions. His arrival underscores the club’s ambition to maintain their dominance in Greece and make a mark in European football.
