Hamza Igamane’s second-half brace earned Rangers a hard-fought point at Motherwell in a thrilling Scottish Premiership clash. Rangers, trailing 2-0 at halftime were staring at back-to-back defeats before Thursday’s Old Firm derby. Manager Philippe Clement called upon Hamza Igamane to step up and the Moroccan delivered with two clinical goals. His first came after the ball fell to his feet and his second was a well-placed strike into the far corner to bring Rangers level.

The first half saw Rangers outplayed by Motherwell, who took the lead through Apostolos Stamatelopoulos and extended it with Tawanda Maswanhise’s dazzling solo effort. Maswanhise, in particular impressed with his flair and skill, leaving the Rangers defense in disarray. However, Motherwell had two goals ruled out by VAR with Tony Watt’s disallowed goals frustrating the hosts. Rangers pushed for a winner but failed to break down a resolute Motherwell side, leaving them 14 points adrift of Celtic in second place.

Despite a late rally, Rangers were sluggish and lacked the sharpness required to secure all three points. Clement made several changes to the starting lineup but saw little improvement with Cyriel Dessers and Danilo wasting key chances. Motherwell led by Stuart Kettlewell showed great determination throughout the match especially in the first half.

Although disappointed to settle for a draw, they will be proud of their performance with Maswanhise’s brilliant goal being the highlight. For Rangers, questions remain over their inconsistency, and Clement faces mounting pressure ahead of the crucial Old Firm clash. Motherwell’s point keeps them in a strong position while Rangers’ inability to capitalize on their chances raises concerns for their title aspirations.
