Jason Kelce former Philadelphia Eagles player has expressed regret over an incident involving a person’s phone. He threw it to the ground after they directed a homophobic slur at his younger brother, NFL star Travis Kelce. The incident occurred at a stadium in Pennsylvania where Jason was walking through a crowd when someone insulted Travis, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs and is in a relationship with singer Taylor Swift.
In response, Jason grabbed the person’s phone and threw it to the ground. He then appeared to repeat the slur when the individual asked for their phone back. The altercation quickly made its way onto social media drawing public attention. Jason later addressed the situation in an interview with ESPN, admitting that he was “not proud” of his actions. “I’m not happy with anything that took place,” he said, reflecting on his response.
Jason acknowledged that in the heat of the moment, he “greeted hate with hate,” which he described as an unproductive and wrong approach. “I fell down to a level I shouldn’t have,” he added, emphasizing that he aims to live by the “golden rule” of treating others with decency and respect. The incident occurred during a week of heightened media attention but Jason committed to moving forward with the values he believes in.
Jason Kelce, now an ESPN analyst after retiring in 2024 following 13 seasons with the Eagles also co-hosts a podcast with his brother Travis. The show features celebrity interviews and discussions about their personal lives.
