Jayden Daniels guided the Washington Commanders to a thrilling 36-33 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, ending their 10-game winning streak. He threw five touchdowns, rushed for 81 yards and capped the game with a 57-yard drive, delivering the game-winning touchdown with just six seconds remaining. Jayden Daniels impressed especially after Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts left the game with a concussion. Washington’s win boosted them to a 10-5 record, their best since their 1991 Super Bowl win and eliminated Dallas from playoff contention.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings battle for the NFC’s top seed both now at 13-2. The Lions beat the Chicago Bears 34-17, setting team records in points and away wins while the Vikings came from behind to beat the Seattle Seahawks 27-24. Their season finale will be a crucial showdown for the number one seed which will provide a playoff bye and home-field advantage.
The San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys both failed to make the playoffs with the Cowboys securing a 26-24 win over Tampa Bay which also dropped out of the playoff race after Atlanta’s dominant 34-7 win over the New York Giants. The Los Angeles Rams edged past the New York Jets to take control of their division while the Arizona Cardinals lost in overtime to the Carolina Panthers, ending their playoff hopes.
In the AFC, the Buffalo Bills beat the New England Patriots 24-21, keeping their playoff hopes alive. The Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals also won with Jonathan Taylor rushing for 218 yards and three touchdowns in a victory over the Titans. The Bengals, Colts and Dolphins now need to win their final games and hope for favorable results to secure a wildcard spot.
