Josh Allen Shines as Bills Rout Jaguars
Josh Allen led the Buffalo Bills to a commanding 47-10 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars throwing four touchdown passes in the first half. With this win, the Bills maintained their perfect start to the season. Josh Allen connected with Dalton Kincaid, Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir and Ty Johnson for touchdowns while James Cook added a rushing touchdown to help Buffalo build a 34-3 lead by halftime.
In the third quarter, Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence found Brenton Strange with a six-yard touchdown pass but it was too little too late as Ray Davis rushed for another touchdown late in the game to secure a dominant win for the Bills. Lawrence struggled throughout the game, getting sacked four times leading to Jacksonville’s third consecutive loss this season.
A notable moment came when Buffalo safety Damar Hamlin, who experienced a cardiac arrest during a game in January last year celebrated with teammates after recording his first career interception, highlighting his remarkable comeback. In a separate Monday night matchup, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels led the Washington Commanders to a narrow 38-33 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Daniels the second overall pick in the 2024 draft had an impressive performance completing 21 of 23 passes for 254 yards along with two touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow completed 29 of 38 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns, two of which went to star receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
Despite a late one-yard touchdown run from Zack Moss that narrowed the gap to five points with just 40 seconds remaining, the Bengals ran out of time, suffering their first 0-3 start since 2019.
