Kylian Mbappé netted his third goal in two games to secure a hard-fought victory for Real Madrid over Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena. Kylian Mbappé, who had previously scored in La Liga before the international break, converted a late penalty after Jon Aramburu fouled Vinícius Jr. sending Alex Remiro the wrong way. The match saw Vinícius Jr. open the scoring for Madrid in the 58th minute with a penalty of his own.

The penalty was awarded after former Manchester City left-back Sergio Gómez handled Arda Güler’s powerful shot. Vinícius Jr. made no mistake, marking his second La Liga goal of the season. Real Sociedad could have taken the lead multiple times, hitting the woodwork three times throughout the match. Luka Sucic’s powerful strike from the edge of the box rattled the crossbar in the 25th minute.

Ten minutes later, Dani Carvajal’s lost possession allowed Sheraldo Becker’s left-footed strike to spin off the bar. In the second half, Sucic had another chance but his left-footed effort struck the base of the post. England international Jude Bellingham missed the game due to a calf injury sustained before the international break but has since returned to training.

Despite this win, Real Madrid remains unbeaten after five league matches but trails leaders Barcelona by a point having played one game more.
