Fermin Lopez starred with a brace and two assists as Barcelona ended their four-game winless run in La Liga with a dominant 6-1 victory over Valencia. The match began with an early goal from Frenkie de Jong, who fired low into the bottom corner after just two minutes. Barcelona doubled their lead with a strike from Ferran Torres before Raphinha added a third, finishing into an empty net after a clear run on goal. Fermin Lopez then took center stage, controlling a long ball over the top with skill before scoring past goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

He added a second goal just before halftime, reacting quickly to convert the rebound from Raphinha’s shot off the crossbar. Valencia managed a consolation goal when Hugo Duro converted a cross from Diego Lopez just before the hour mark. Substitute Robert Lewandowski extended Barcelona’s lead with a low finish, marking his 17th league goal of the season.

Cesar Tarrega’s own goal completed the scoring, as Barcelona recorded their biggest La Liga win since a 7-0 victory over Real Valladolid in August 2024. This triumph follows their thrilling 5-4 win over Benfica in the Champions League earlier in the week. Under manager Hansi Flick, Barcelona have now scored 100 goals in just 32 games, making him the second-fastest coach in club history to reach this milestone after Helenio Herrera (31 games in 1959).

Barcelona now sit third in the La Liga standings, seven points behind leaders Real Madrid while Valencia remain in 19th place, struggling under manager Carlos Corberan. Barcelona will host Serie A’s Atalanta on Wednesday, having already secured their place in the Champions League last-16.
