Jude Bellingham Extends Goal Streak as Madrid Beats Girona 3-0

Jude Bellingham extended his goal-scoring run to five consecutive La Liga matches as Real Madrid triumphed 3-0 over Girona. The England midfielder, who had gone without a goal earlier in the season, became the first Real Madrid player since Karim Benzema in 2021 to score in five straight league games. He fired a bouncing ball from 16 yards late in the first half to give Madrid the lead. Bellingham continued to influence the game in the second half, playing a brilliant through ball for Arda Guler to double Madrid’s advantage.

However, after taking a knock, Bellingham had to leave the field and allowed Dani Ceballos to substitute him just before the hour mark. Despite the injury scare, manager Carlo Ancelotti reassured fans that Bellingham would be fit for Real Madrid’s upcoming Champions League clash with Atalanta. Kylian Mbappé then added a goal of his own, netting his ninth La Liga goal of the season with a powerful strike from Luka Modric’s pass.

This goal marked Mbappé’s 200th career league goal with 16 from his time at Monaco and 175 with Paris Saint-Germain. The win moved Real Madrid to within two points of leaders Barcelona, who drew 2-2 with Real Betis. With a game in hand, Madrid remains firmly in the title race. Ancelotti speaking after the match, confirmed that Jude Bellingham was in good form despite his minor injury, stating that the 21-year-old would be available for Tuesday’s Champions League match. “He preferred not to risk it in the final moments, but he’s fine and ready for Tuesday,” said the coach.
