Kylian Mbappé scored his fourth goal in three La Liga matches as Real Madrid staged a convincing comeback victory over Espanyol. Despite dominating the first half, Real found themselves trailing early in the second half when Thibaut Courtois accidentally deflected Jofre Carreras’ cross into his own net. Espanyol’s lead lasted just four minutes. Jude Bellingham set up Dani Carvajal, who slipped his shot beneath goalkeeper Joan Garcia to find the net.

Real Madrid completed the turnaround with 15 minutes left when Rodrygo connected with a cross from Vinícius Júnior. Vinícius then added a second goal just three minutes later before Mbappé capped the scoring with a late penalty kick. Throughout the game, Real Madrid unleashed a total of 31 shots while Espanyol managed only one, which came in the 68th minute.

Kylian Mbappé nearly scored in the first half but saw Garcia thwart him with a close-range save. The French forward has now netted six goals in his first eight appearances since joining from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, significantly contributing to the team’s attack. This victory propelled Real Madrid to second place in La Liga just one point behind leaders Barcelona, who remain unbeaten.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side matched the second-longest unbeaten run in La Liga history, trailing only Barcelona’s remarkable 43-game stretch between 2017 and 2018. As the season progresses, Real looks poised to challenge for the title showcasing both resilience and attacking prowess.
