Real Madrid star's partner blasts Ancelotti after AC Milan defeat, then claims account was hacked
The partner of a Real Madrid player has criticized Carlo Ancelotti after the Spanish giants suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat to AC Milan in the Champions League.
The loss, which occurred at the Bernabeu on Tuesday, added more pressure on Ancelotti following a tough start to the season. Real Madrid has now lost two of their four games in the revamped Champions League, sitting in 17th place. Additionally, they trail Barcelona by nine points in LaLiga after suffering a 4-0 loss to their arch-rivals last month.
In the Milan defeat, Real’s defensive vulnerabilities again surfaced. Ancelotti substituted Federico Valverde, who started on the right side of midfield, and Aurelien Tchouameni at halftime to turn the game around. This decision angered Mina Bonino, Valverde’s partner, who took to social media to express her frustration. She tweeted, “It’s better that I keep quiet because they would take me to jail.”
When someone responded, claiming that the substitution was tactical, Bonino became more upset. She replied, “Brother, Fede plays best as a pivot and in recovery. What are you talking about? When are they going to understand once and for all that Fede is not a winger?”
Later, Bonino claimed that her account had been hacked and the messages weren’t from her.
Ancelotti responded to the criticism after the game, defending his decision. He explained, “What people think on social networks… for me it’s very complicated. I replaced him because he wasn’t 100 percent. He had back problems, and although he trained well yesterday, it seemed he wasn’t at his best physical level.”
Despite the mounting pressure, Ancelotti reflected on his team’s struggles and acknowledged the concerns surrounding his position. He admitted, “We’ve conceded too many goals recently, and we must fix it. It’s normal for people to question my decisions when the team isn’t performing well. We all take responsibility. It’s good that we’re all reflecting on how to improve.”
