Ruben Amorim announced he will clarify his expected move to Manchester United after Sporting Lisbon’s game against Estrela on Friday. Although confusion persists regarding a deal following Erik ten Hag’s sacking on Monday, Amorim plans to stay with Sporting until the international break from November 11-19. Amorim highlighted the complexities in club negotiations while United board member Sir Dave Brailsford suggested a deal is final but Sporting officials maintain that talks are ongoing.

Amorim recognized the impact of speculation on his squad, noting that the ongoing rumors have left his players feeling nervous and anxious. He pledged to defend his team but acknowledged the situation is beyond his control. With Sporting gearing up for crucial matches including a Champions League face-off with Manchester City and a league match against Braga, Amorim aims to resolve his future as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Ruud van Nistelrooy held his first news conference as United’s interim manager, stating he has taken on the role temporarily. While disappointed by Ten Hag’s departure, Van Nistelrooy remains committed to driving the team toward success especially in the upcoming Chelsea game. After discussions with both Ten Hag and Sir Alex Ferguson, Van Nistelrooy expressed his dedication to keeping the club’s progress on track.

He voiced his willingness to support United in any role, including returning to his assistant position after the interim period. After the Chelsea match, United will take on PAOK in the Europa League and Leicester in the Premier League before the international break. If appointed, Ruben Amorim may lead United against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on November 28 followed by a Premier League match with Everton.
