Marco Brescianini’s late equalizer salvaged a crucial point for Atalanta in a 1-1 draw against Lazio, keeping them atop the Serie A table. The result ended Atalanta’s impressive 11-match winning streak but ensured they remained one point clear of second-placed Inter Milan, who had earlier secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Cagliari. Meanwhile, Lazio currently hold fourth place in the standings. Lazio controlled much of the first half at the Stadio Olimpico and took the lead in the 27th minute.

Nicolo Rovella delivered a precise high through ball to Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who cut inside and expertly volleyed past the Atalanta goalkeeper. The goal marked another standout moment for the former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder, giving Lazio a deserved advantage. Despite Lazio’s dominance, Atalanta managed to equalize in the dying minutes. In the 88th minute, Ademola Lookman set up Marco Brescianini, who calmly converted from close range to deny the hosts a victory.

The draw kept Gian Piero Gasperini’s team ahead in the title race, though Inter Milan have a game in hand. Inter continued their strong form with a fifth consecutive league win earlier in the day. Goals from Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu ensured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Cagliari, further intensifying the title battle.

While Atalanta celebrated their resilience, the dropped points highlighted the competitive nature of the Serie A race. Lazio’s strong performance and Dele-Bashiru’s goal showcased their quality but they will rue missing the chance to climb closer to the top. With Inter gaining momentum and Atalanta narrowly maintaining their lead, the Serie A title race remains tightly contested as the season progresses.
