The Seattle Seahawks kept their playoff hopes alive with a 6-3 win over the Chicago Bears on a rainy Thursday night at Soldier Field. Jason Myers kicked two field goals including a 27-yard opener and a 50-yard shot with 21 seconds left in the first half, securing the Seahawks’ slim victory. As a result, Seattle’s playoff hopes remain intact. With the win, Seattle now relies on the LA Rams to lose to the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday.

If that happens, the Seattle Seahawks will face the Rams in a winner-take-all game next weekend at SoFi Stadium. Therefore, the outcome of this game will determine Seattle’s future. Seattle’s defense was dominant, sacking Bears quarterback Caleb Williams seven times and allowing just 179 total yards. In the final seconds, the Seahawks sealed the game with an interception ensuring their victory. In contrast, the Bears struggled throughout the game.

The Bears, who suffered their 10th consecutive loss were met with boos from their frustrated fans, some of whom called for the team to be sold. Williams, who is in his first year with the team, acknowledged the frustration but remained focused on his role. “My job is to go out there and win games,” he said. “We don’t focus on the outside noise. The fans are going to cheer and, maybe, boo sometimes, and you can’t react to that.

Some days you don’t do well, some days you play a great game.” Despite the boos, Williams stayed positive and focused on his task. Seattle’s victory keeps their playoff hopes alive but with only one game left, their fate is now in the hands of the Rams’ performance against the Cardinals. Thus, Seattle must hope for a Rams loss to have a chance at the playoffs.
