Thiago Motta Signs Three-Year Deal to Lead Juventus

Thiago Motta, the former Bologna manager, assumes the role of the new head coach at Italian club Juventus. The 41-year-old, renowned for his playing career with Italy and Serie A rivals Inter Milan as a midfielder, has inked a three-year contract until June 2027. He steps in for Massimiliano Allegri, dismissed just two days after leading Juventus to victory in the Italian Cup. Motta arrives at Juventus following a successful stint at Bologna, where he guided the team to qualify for the Champions League by finishing fifth in the league last season.

Beyond his playing career with clubs like Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Genoa and Paris St-Germain, Motta transitioned into coaching with Paris St-Germain’s youth team.

He later served on the coaching staff at Genoa before assuming managerial roles at Spezia and subsequently Bologna. Juventus’s decision to appoint Motta reflects their ambition to rejuvenate under his leadership, leveraging both his playing pedigree and coaching acumen to propel the club forward in domestic and European competitions.
