Von Miller received a four-game suspension without pay for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. The league handed down the suspension following an incident on November 30, 2023 when the Buffalo Bills linebacker turned himself into police in Dallas after they issued an arrest warrant against him. Authorities accused Miller of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend but no formal charges followed.

The 35-year-old has consistently maintained his innocence, asserting that the allegations are “100% false.” Despite the ongoing investigation, the eight-time Pro Bowler continued to play. In July, during the Bills’ training camp, Miller told reporters that he considered the case resolved. This season, he participated in all four games for the Bills demonstrating his impact on the field with three sacks to his name.

Miller’s suspension means he will miss the next four games but will be eligible to return to action on October 28, following the Bills’ week eight game against the Seattle Seahawks. The incident and subsequent suspension mark a significant moment in Miller’s career especially given his successful track record and reputation in the league. As Miller navigates this challenging period, the Bills will look to fill the void left by his absence.

The team faces pressure to perform well without him especially as they aim to maintain their competitive edge in the league. Von Miller’s return could provide a significant boost to the Bills as they head into the season’s second half, but for now, he must focus on addressing the personal conduct issues that led to his suspension.
