Francesco Bagnaia, the reigning MotoGP champion narrowed Jorge Martin’s championship lead to 17 points with a victory at the Thailand Grand Prix securing his ninth win of the season. Competing for Ducati, Bagnaia triumphed in wet conditions at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram. Despite starting from pole position, Bagnaia slipped to third at the start but quickly regained his lead from Martin on lap five.

The race then turned into an intense battle between Bagnaia and six-time champion Marc Marquez. However, Marquez’s race took a turn when he slid off the track on lap 14. Bagnaia maintained his lead and ultimately finished the race almost three seconds ahead of Martin, who secured second place while Pedro Acosta of Tech 3 claimed third.

In Saturday’s sprint race, Ducati’s Enea Bastianini took the win while Martin and Bagnaia followed closely, finishing second and third, respectively. With only two races remaining in the season, the championship battle is heating up. The next race will take place at the Malaysian Grand Prix from November 1-3, followed by the season finale at the Valencia Grand Prix from November 15-17.

The outcome of these races will be crucial as Francesco Bagnaia looks to close the gap further on Martin and defend his title.
