Adrian Meronk was awarded the 2023 Seve Ballesteros Award for being voted the DP World Tour’s Player of the Year. He secured 38% of votes from fellow professionals, surpassing competitors like Rory McIlroy, Nicolai Hojgaard, and Viktor Hovland. Meronk had an outstanding season, finishing fourth on the Race to Dubai Rankings by winning three tournaments. Notably, he won the Australian Open, entered the world’s top 50, and qualified for all four majors in 2023. Meronk expressed surprise and gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the significance of his career-best season.

The award, named after Seve Ballesteros, combines the former Golfer of the Year Award and is voted on by DP World Tour members. Meronk’s achievements were praised by Keith Pelley, CEO of the DP World Tour, who highlighted Meronk’s historic feat as the first Polish player to receive the Seve Ballesteros Award. Javier Ballesteros, Seve Ballesteros’s son, presented the award to Meronk in Dubai. Meronk, starting the 2024 DP World Tour season strongly with two top-10 finishes, also earned dual membership on the PGA Tour for the upcoming year based on his Race to Dubai standings.
