Andy Murray has withdrawn from the early European clay-court season after sustaining ankle ligament tears at the Miami Open. His injuries, a full rupture of his anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) and a torn calcaneofibular ligament (CFL) have left his Wimbledon participation uncertain.

Despite his determination to return to the court soon, Murray management states that the duration of his recovery remains unclear. This setback is significant considering Murray plans for retirement at the end of the summer. Wimbledon where Murray is a two-time champion holds particular importance for him.

The possibility of competing in the Paris Olympics and the US Open also looms, presenting further decisions for Murray regarding his farewell season.
