Arsenal Secures Tomiyasu's Future with Contract Extension

Takehiro Tomiyasu has extended his contract with Arsenal until at least 2026 with an option for a further 12 months extension. The Japanese defender, who joined the club from Bologna in August 2021 has become a valuable member of the squad despite facing injury setbacks.

Tomiyasu expressed his dedication to the club and its supporters emphasizing his desire to give back to them. Despite limited appearances this season due to calf issues and international duties, manager Mikel Arteta praised Tomiyasu’s attitude and versatility. Operating primarily as a full-back for Arsenal, Tomiyasu has also played as a centre-back for Japan.

Arteta highlighted Tomiyasu’s exemplary work ethic and commitment to self-improvement. The 25 years old, who has previously played for clubs in Belgium and Japan, aims to contribute to Arsenal’s success and hopes to win trophies alongside his teammates and fans.
