Aston Martin’s AMR24: Racing Into the Future with a Strong Development Focus

Aston Martin has unveiled its 2024 Formula 1 car the AMR24 as an evolution of its successful 2023 model. The team aims to build on its breakout 2023 season where Fernando Alonso secured six podiums in the first eight races. Despite a challenging second half, Aston Martin finished fifth in the constructors’ championship.

The team’s focus for the upcoming season includes maintaining development pace and creating a more versatile car for different circuits. Technical director Dan Fallows emphasized the importance of a strong development platform. The AMR24 benefits from Aston Martin’s new wind tunnel and technology campus.

The car uses Mercedes components including a pushrod rear suspension. Success with the AMR24 will play a role in retaining Fernando Alonso beyond 2024. Team boss Mike Krack expresses the desire to continue with Alonso while the driver will assess his future after the initial races.

Lance Stroll remains Alonso’s teammate for the sixth consecutive season. The AMR24 had its shakedown at Silverstone marking the start of Aston Martin’s 2024 campaign.
