In the buildup to an important La Liga clash between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, one player is unsurprisingly becoming a hot topic, and that is the Portuguese forward, Joao Felix.
The Atletico loanee’s mixed start to life at Barcelona took another turn last week with a stunning performance against yet another of his former clubs, FC Porto, in the Champions League. However, it is yet to be seen whether the Barcelona hierarchy will decide to keep him there next season.
Asked about the situation, Atletico’s president, Enrique Cerezo, said the solution is simple: if Barcelona isn’t keeping him, then he shall return to Madrid.
It will be an interesting topic for fans of both clubs, as Felix has been struggling at the club since his record-breaking transfer to Atletico from Benfica back in 2019.
Barcelona is now fourth, one place below Atletico in the La Liga standings.
