Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed, expressed satisfaction with his nearly flawless performance in the fourth-round victory over Miomir Kecmanovic at the Australian Open. Alcaraz, a two-time Grand Slam champion, won 6-4, 6-4, 6-0, securing a spot in the quarter-finals at Melbourne Park for the first time. The 20-year-old Spaniard, set to face sixth seed Alexander Zverev next, is confident and feeling better with each passing day. In other matches, Daniil Medvedev overcame Nuno Borges and Hubert Hurkacz defeated wildcard Arthur Cazaux. Zverev also advanced with a five-set victory against Cameron Norrie. Alcaraz is optimistic about his upcoming quarter-final, stating that he and Zverev bring a high level of tennis and intensity to their matches.

Medvedev, the third seed, faced a challenge against Borges but eventually secured a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 6-1 victory. Despite facing difficulties in the third set, Medvedev regained control in the fourth, showcasing his determination. Looking ahead, Medvedev a two-time Australian Open runner-up, expressed readiness to clinch the title, emphasizing his worth and past achievements. He will face ninth seed Hurkacz in the quarter-finals with Hurkacz securing a 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 victory over Cazaux. This marks Hurkacz’s first quarter-final in Melbourne and he is excited about the upcoming challenge against Medvedev whom he holds a 3-2 record against.
