Azeem Aims for Paris Olympics Glory: Malaysian Sprinter’s 2024 Aspirations

National sprint champion Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi is setting his sights on the Paris Olympics 2024 as his primary goal this year aiming to debut at the prestigious sports event. The Auburn University student in Alabama made a mark at the 2022 Under-20 World Athletics Championships and the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

Azeem the 100m men’s bronze medalist at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games plans to kick off his mission for Paris 2024 during Ramadan with the Yellow Jacket Invite open tournament at Georgia Tech, Atlanta on March 15 and 16. His goal is to qualify for the Olympics through world rankings or the standard qualifying mark of 10 seconds.

Azeem’s challenge in Atlanta is to achieve a time under 10.20s inching closer to his national record of 10.09s. His performances in upcoming tournaments will determine his qualification for the Paris Olympics continuing his efforts to bring honor to Malaysia on the world stage.
